Our Story
At G&G Custom Homes we build homes for clients that want to avoid the stresses of an average custom home build. Our owner, Joe, believes a house should be a reflection of the people and families that call it home. By selecting only a limited number of homes to build each year, Joe develops a close working relationship with each family and works directly with them from start to finish. This provides a memorable experience and a house they are proud to call their forever home.
A Better Experience
G&G Custom Homes Inc, also provides their homeowners with a “Better Building Experience”. This is accomplished through BuilderTREND, a web-based service that makes the home building process easier for our customers. Homeowners are able to track selections online 24/7, easily track spending, access their schedule and budget information, document decisions to eliminate confusion, and look through their portfolio of their home throughout the building process. Visit BuilderTREND for more information.
G&G Custom Homes, Inc. takes immense pride in its customer service and follow up after the sale. Joe sums up his philosophy in saying,
“We will not just hand over the keys and walk away, we look forward to building a long lasting relationship with all our clients.”
Our Background
Joe Garcia started building homes long before the doors of G&G Custom Homes, Inc. opened in 2003. After seven years in the Steel Mills of Gary, Ind., he made the move to Eli Lilly and Company. Acting as a project manager and engineer at both companies gave him a unique opportunity to focus on quality control standards. In 2001, armed with this eye for detail and his engineering background, Joe launched his career by building his own home. He immediately recognized that he had both a talent and a passion for the building process.
Joe takes the same standards he adhered to in the pharmaceutical and steel industries to the homes he builds today. He combines a youthful and innovative approach with a seasoned sensibility for his craft. For Joe, sacrificing quality is never an option. He and his wife, Mindy, take great pride in the relationships they have built with their customers and the knowledge that they create a superior product.
Joe is a member of the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), Indiana Builders Association (IBA), Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI) and is an alumnus of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He also holds the following designations through the National Association of Homebuilders(NAHB); Graduate Master Builder(GMB),Master Certified Green Professional(MCGP), Certified Graduate Builder(CGB), and Certified Green Professional(CGP).
GMB is an exclusive professional designation designed to emphasize business and project management skills as the key to a professional building operation and Joe is one of a handful of select builders in central Indiana to receive this distinction—the ultimate symbol of the building professional. CGP recognizes builders who incorporate green building principles into their homes without driving up the cost of construction. Builders who hold this designation have a solid background in green building methods and are leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.
THE G&G WARRANTY
Along with this personal service policy, G&G Custom Homes, Inc. provides a 10-year insured warranty through Residential Warranty Corporation (RWC). A home is a major investment and buyers must be secure in the knowledge that the purchase is a good investment, was built by an experienced professional builder, and that quality materials were used. Residential Warranty Corporation (RWC) is one of the nation’s oldest and largest providers of written insured warranties on new homes, providing homeowners with a strong foundation of security for their home.
As a member of RWC, G&G Custom Homes, Inc. is thoroughly examined every year for financial stability, customer satisfaction, and technical competence. Additionally they must comply with specific construction standards in order to have homes warranted. A clearly written warranty book provides all the details of program coverage.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE
G&G Custom Homes, Inc builds Green Certified Homes that are certified to the ANSI ICC700-2008 National Green Building Standard. Green homes incorporate environmental considerations and resource efficiency into every step of the building and development process to minimize environmental impact. The design, construction, and operation of a home must focus on energy and water efficiency, resource efficient building design and materials, indoor environmental quality, and must take the home’s overall impact on the environment into account. However, many of the processes and technologies that go into a green home happen behind the scenes and behind the walls. Visit NAHB Green for more information.
G&G Custom Homes, Inc. builds high-performance custom homes and is one of a few select builders in Indiana that provides the ThermoShield Program as a standard for every home they build. Thermo-Scan Energy Management Corporation (TSI), a third party energy management firm, inspects homes to insure they meet the strict requirements of this program. Homes that go through the ThermoShield program must meet the guidelines for energy efficiency. These custom homes are also at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2012 Indiana Energy Code.
